The Nowy Sącz Subzone of Kraków Special Economic Zone

 

Since October 13, 2007 the Nowy Sącz Subzone of Kraków Special Economic Zone has been functioning in Nowy Sącz. The subzone was established by the ordinance of the Council of Ministers on September 19, 2007 amending the ordinance on the Kraków Special Economic Zone (Dz. U. Nr 179 poz. 1269).
 

Today, The Nowy Sącz Subzone covers an area of 13,9768 hectares.


Investors running their business in the Nowy Sącz Subzone benefit from public aid for:
•    supporting new investments or
•    job creation linked to new investment
In the case of aid for new investment, the investor receives a refund up to 55% of investment expenditure, while in the case of aid for job creation linked to new investment - 55% of two-year labour costs of new employees. The refund shall be implemented in the form of complete exemption from income tax, from which the investor benefit to the point of exhaustion of the amount of aid, not later than 31 December 2026.

The level of public aid depends on the region, in which new investment is implemented and the size of the company. For Nowy Sącz it is:
•    35% for large companies
•    45% for medium-sized companies
•    55% for small companies

The actual title for the investor to use public aid in the Nowy Sącz Subzone is the permit to operate in the area, issued by the Kraków Technology Park (KTP), i.e. the company managing the Kraków Special Economic Zone, on behalf of the minister competent for economy.
